The Explanation Behind #LadyGayGay

Posted by Beez.

As some of you may or may not know, #LadyGayGay is a trending topic on twitter right now. A lot of people asked me why, so here’s the explanation.

Fred Phelps from the infamous Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) and the founder of ‘God Hates Fags’ has decided to picket an upcoming concert of Lady Gaga’s at the Fox Theatre in Missouri on January 7th. The Westboro Baptist Church has long alleged, through self-proclaimed “religious opinion and bible commentary,” that those who support gay rights were destined for Hell. The church has picketed the funerals of American soldiers killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as various other tragedies, claiming negative outcomes are a result of “God hating America.”

Lady Gaga become a target after delivering a memorable speech at the National Equality March — a large national rally for gay and lesbian rights — earlier this year, in which she ended her speech with the phrase “Bless God and bless the gays.”

Lady Gaga went on to call the speech “the single most important event” of her career. She repeated the closing phrase of that speech upon her acceptance of an award at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards.

Fans (Monsters) of Lady Gaga where outraged by this news. Lady Gaga is a huge inspiration to us all, and we all know in our hearts that Lady Gaga is always there for us. Not once has she let us down, and not a day goes by where she doesn’t mention or declare her love for her ‘Little Monsters’

We decided to rebel against the shocking and sickening news of what CUNT Fred Phelps proposed to do. So all of us ‘Monsters’ united to show mass support to Lady Gaga and gay rights. It started off with two simple tweets #LadyGayGay and #NOH8. Every monster re-tweeted these repeatedly until the tweet count had reached in excess of 3,000.  We included @ladygaga in all of the tweets in the hope that she would see our mass support, and that she did; Lady Gaga had seen our messages of support, and she tweeted what we had been tweeting like crazy ‘#LadyGayGay’

This was beyond amazing for all of us, because the pace of the tweets had reduced rapidly, and a lot of us had been blocked from tweeting due to the mass amount of tweets posted.

Just when we thought things couldn’t get any better #LadyGayGay became a Trending Topic on Twitter

Thanks to GaGaNews for the story

Not only had Lady Gaga herself tweeted what we had been tweeting, but it was now up on twitter on Trending Topics for the world to see our messages of support.
